Kandinsky and Graphic Art?

I really enjoy the work of Wassily Kandinsky and I feel there is a lot to be learned from some of the ideas he uses in his artwork. He has a very strict set of rules that he follows, outlined in his book Point and Line to Plane, that describe how to use colors and what they mean, the different meanings portrayed by lines, line quality, and shapes. For example, a point in space is not simply a dot, but it is also temporal and can even convey sound. Like a period at the end of a sentence, a point can be seen as a pause that leads into another aspect within the work. While you may not think of Kandinsky as a graphic artist, these ideas that simplistic elements convey a particular meaning can be useful to us. Here are some examples of his work:
